Learn more about Dr. Quell, his expertise, and his approach to dental care in our Q&A:
What motivated you to practice dentistry?
I’ve always known from a young age that I wanted to practice dentistry. It is a profession which is both incredibly rewarding and challenging. Every day is an opportunity to help others and to change lives. Frankly, I can’t picture myself doing anything else.
What do you like most about DGY Dentistry Ann Arbor so far?
The patients! It really has been a pleasure getting to meet everyone thus far, and I excitedly look forward to building relationships and caring for you all for years to come.
How would you describe your approach to dentistry?
I like to first take the time to get to know my patients and understand exactly what it is that they are looking to achieve. I then make sure to deliver both the highest quality care and an excellent patient experience for all, regardless of how simple or complex the treatment may be.
What is the most rewarding aspect of practicing dentistry?
Changing lives. Whether it’s providing preventative care, delivering dental restorative procedures, eliminating pain or improving esthetics, the ability to positively impact people’s lives is incredibly rewarding.
What advice would you give patients, in general, about maintaining their dental health?
Do not undervalue the importance of regular dental visits – even if your oral health is seemingly ‘fine’. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen firsthand the detrimental effects that delaying regular dental visits can have on dental health. Early detection and management of dental issues is key – before they have a chance to become larger problems requiring more complex (and expensive!) treatment.
What would you say to someone who is nervous about visiting the dentist and/or putting off a procedure due to fear?
You are not alone! We see many patients who are initially nervous/fearful about going to the dentist. Well before any procedures are done, we first take the time to listen and understand any fears or concerns that you may have. We offer a wide range of options for patients with dental anxiety and will work with you to ensure that your experience is relaxed and comfortable.
