A proud Ann Arbor native, she earned both an undergraduate degree in biology and her DDS at the University of Michigan. Always striving for personal and professional growth, she completed intensive post-graduate training in complex restorative and surgical procedures. Following her post-graduate training Dr. Yilmaz received on-going training by a reknowned prosthodontist, Dr. Kirk Donaldson with a strong emphasis on full mouth reconstruction and cosmetics.
Keeping up with the very latest dental science, she is masterful in the full range of dental procedures and surgeries. She is thoughtful and precise in the planning of restorative dentistry to the more complex surgical, grafting and implant services. She is driven to perform at the highest level for her patients, always seeking more knowledge in all realms of dentistry that feeds her passion to learn and be the best she can be for all her patients. She has expertise in orthodontics and therapeutic services for treating muscle pain. Dr. Yilmaz is no stranger to hard work, as she can be found working behind the scenes in the lab, after hours to ensure the best possible results for her patients. She strives to deliver all the information necessary for patients to make an informed decision about the status of their oral health. Dr. Yilmaz believes in partnering with her patients to devise treatment plans that meet the goals of her patients.
Dr. Yilmaz comes from a family of physicians wtih strong educational values and a passion for clinical excellence, while treating people with compassion and a high level of integrity.
Although her love of dentistry occupies much of her time, Dr. Yilmaz is deeply passionate about animal welfare doing everything she can to support organizations internationally with a focus on the rescue of street animals. Living a life of modesty and humbleness, Dr. Yilmaz takes most joy from the simple things in life, spending time with her family and exposing herself to different cultures and experiences.
Dr. Kirk Donaldson, DDS, MS attended the University of Michigan for his college, DDS, and MS graduate degree in fixed prosthodontics. He has built a career on continuous improvement and education. Kirk’s passion for artistic and technical excellence propels his expertise in dental ceramics and cosmetic dentistry. He is highly trained and experienced in comprehensive restoration, implant surgery, bone & tissue grafting, and oral sedation dentistry.
He received high academic and clinical honors from dental school and served on the board for a large dental continuing education society. Kirk is dedicated to empowering and enhancing lives: making it possible for people turn their hopes into reality.
Kirk takes an artistic approach to his whole life. He is also an accomplished photographer; photographing regularly for the Department of Dance at U of Michigan along with extensive journeys to interesting corners of the world. Annie has been with Donaldson Guenther since 1992, and in that time has watched it grow into something extremely special. A true compassionate, expert office manager, Ann has many patients call seeking her expertise on annual planning, flex spending, and other benefits. She helps people with personal scheduling and financial arrangements so they can receive the dentistry they desire. She values her relationships with patients and goes the extra mile to make a patient’s experience positive, usually exceeding their expectations.
A mother to six sons, and grandma to six beautiful grandchildren. In her spare time, Ann enjoys golfing with her sons, motorcycle riding with friends and best of all– traveling. Dear to her heart is spending time being “gma” to her grandchildren. She is an amazing lady that people enjoy getting to know and learn to trust.
Sandy joined our office to focus on patient scheduling at the front desk. Her warm smile greets you as you come in the front door. Sandy has 14 years of experience in dentistry. She also spent years running a middle school health clinic ( with 2400 parents ! ), was a plastic surgery consultant and auditor within an engineering firm. Sandy is a proud mom to four grown and successful children. Fun for Sandy means international travel.
Kaitlin is an Ann Arbor local who grew upin the practice. Since a young age, she has had a strong interest in dentistry, spending time shadowing her orthodontist, hygienists and for years with Dr. Donaldson. Kaitlin received her Bachelors degree from the University of Mississippi before attending dental hygiene school at Baker College; graduating Magna Cum Laude and the top of her class. Kaitlin’s favorite part of being a dental hygienist is getting to know her patients and making their teeth healthy, beautiful and …of course…clean. In her free time Kaitlin enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with friends.
DGY welcomes the return of Mary after practicing elsewhere for 10 years where she spent her time refining her skills and working for dental specialists. She is looking forward to catching up with the many patients she cared for over her 18 years at Donaldson and Guenther. She is looking forward to the opportunity to meet and care for new DGY patients too. In her downtime she continues to work her hobby farm outside of Ann Arbor where she now limits her livestock to her chickens, 3 dogs and her husband. You can also catch her out on the golf course during the summer.
Shannon is described by her coworkers as the office “mother.” Full of energy, she is warm, welcoming, and always concerned with the welfare of our patients and fellow staff. She is an expert at assisting with the most complex cases and has an excellent eye for esthetic color and shape. . . She is married to Rich and has two children, Madison and Reagan.
Jessi learned she love dentistry when she first joined Dr Donaldson’s team on many trips to Guatemala, treating indigenous Mayan communities. Because of her obvious talent and caring nature, she was quickly recruited to our office and has become a superb Dental Assistant. She knows everything the doctors do and is a master at patient care. Jessi is also talented at custom color for ceramic restorations. Jessi is an active mom with one growing daughter and is an avid bicyclist.
We were immediately impressed with Rebecca when she joined DGY. She brought an impressive and gentle skillset from her experience in other specialty dental practices. She has given immediate support to the doctors and the other two assistants, making our assistant team beautifully coordinated with a broad range of skills. She is especially adept with our surgical services. You will love her smile and delightful laugh. Dr Yilmaz affectionately calls her the Sunshine Bear.
